Dr Newlove’s mission is to ensure optimal development in children so they don't have to be burdened with poor functioning bodies when they get older, or succumb to injury, pain or poor development now.
Why should we be “checking in” on our children’s physical development?

1- The increased prevalence of childhood injuries and the negative short term and long term consequences that can arise.
2- Pain conditions due to suboptimal development and the negative consequences of this.
3- Poor performance in the activities they love doing, hindering enjoyment and motivation to keep being active.
What age are children most responsive to our treatments?

Children of all ages can be assessed, however ages 6-12 are extremely responsive to care and input, a time when bad movement patterns have not yet ingrained in the neuromuscular systems.

Move As 1 programs
Evidence based screening/assessment- an ‘at-home’ assessment
Step 1- comprehensive medical and injury history
Step 2- Static postural assessment
Step 3- Evidence based functional test showing predictors of injury such as
-strength of big toe flexor
-hamstring to quadricep strength ratio
-box jump knee valgus degree
-balance test
-Vision screening
Pain management and rehabilitation
Step 1- comprehensive medical and injury history
Step 2- Functional assessment. Rather than focusing on a symptom, a functional approach looks to exam and test the function of a number of key body functions regardless of whether or not they have a symptom or not. For example, a painful knee may be due to a non painful dysfunctional jaw or suboptimal eye function.
Step 3- Determine personalised management and rehabilitation plan
Step 4- Home based sequence (and 1-1) of body awareness exercises that improve and guide the foundations of optimal movement.
