YOU

A large part of the pain we get in our body is called mechanical pain. This means that too much pressure and force has been placed on a particular part of the body for too long. The result is physical stress/damage to the body part in question and at some point you will feel pain.

Our various body parts get overloaded when we are unbalanced and do not distribute mechanical forces (as a result of being in gravity) evenly through our body. This process of becoming unbalanced starts from when we are young and build up over time. Depending on our daily routines it can contribute to and make these imbalances worse.

Common things that lead to less than ideal body movement include injuries, hard knocks, bumps, falls, inappropriate shoe wear, poor breathing pattern, dental issues, vision issues, balance problems, physical and repetitive labour and general inflamed body tissues.

Our approach to your care has been designed to uncover what the real reasons are for your body not being balanced. By doing this we can construct a therapy and rehabilitation plan that will get you long lasting results.

If you want a body that is pain free and allows you to do the things you want to do it will be necessary to shift gears slightly and learn what it takes to take care of yourself. For our body to work well we must give it some conscious attention. Most of us know we need to exercise but if the body isn't working well exercise will actually make it worse.

Our job is to raise your awareness about this and give you the tools to know your body and develop a daily movement regime that will keep you in top working order so you can get off the treatment merry-go-round.

We take a 5 step approach to solve your problem in a timely and cost effective manner.

1 We take the time to listen and gather your unique medical history in a comfortable non rushed environment.

2 Undertake a comprehensive full body functional assessment to determine what isn’t working well regardless of whether it is painful or not.

3 Formulate your unique and personalised treatment and rehabilitation plan or find the help that is best suited to the problem you have.

4 Equip you with the right knowledge and tools to take care of your body in order to stay fit and pain free for life.

5 Put in place a proactive ‘service’ schedule to lend a helping hand to make sure the machine continues to work well (we do it for our cars why not ourselves?)

Move As 1

We realise we are more than mechanical beings but the first port of call is to address the mechanical aspect of our body. If needed we consider other influences that impact your experience of pain such as your emotions, the quality of your nutrition, sleep and exercise and also your attitudes,  psychology and stress levels.

We have strategies in place to help in each of these areas if it is called for.

We look forward to solving your problem and helping you reach your goals.

Everything is better when we Move As 1
